Coochiemudlow (Coochie) is a small island off Victoria Point just South of Brisbane, Queensland. It’s often called the Jewel of Morton Bay, it’s very close to the mainland and has beautiful sandy beaches – rare in the bay. The trip out from Victoria Point is very well protected and pretty close; a couple of hours. If is only a few kilometres more to circumnavigate it.

I put it on the list for a future trip with others, there’s a ferry that goes out from Vic Point and a take away place on the beach  – great to meet up with non-paddlers or take some beginners.

The island is a small island about 4 km from the coast, a perfect distance for a days kayak trip.
