I spent yesterday diving at Cook Island off Tweed Heads. It was SO NICE! Even after last week snorkelling at Bundaberg the Tweed had very different things to offer – more Turtles, Octopi (sp?) , Rays, Unfortunately I didn’t take a camera so no pics, just the beach at Cooloongatta on the way.
Unfortunately I was using different gear, didn’t have enough weight and couldn’t stay down for the safety stop. I had felt it was going to be a problem and had come up as slowly as I could to 7meters or so when I popped up like a cork! If the dive was deeper it could have been very nasty.
Lesson learnt – when I don’t know the gear, add an extra 2-4 lbs for safety…
