Getting itchy feet again so time for a trip, this time to Malaysia.

The first stop is of course Kuala Lumpur. For some reason I never get particularly inspired by KL, it’s just another big Asian city, but there are some nice buildings. If you’ve never been there I think it is probably the most humid city I’ve been to, and I’ve spent a lot of time in Singapore! It’s incredibly green, but every time I go the traffic is terrible and it’s really dusty. It’s really a place to go somewhere else from.

The bird park is pretty interesting to look at though.

KL Bird Park and around

Next, we went up to Panang, Masako had heard there was a big Japanese population there and wanted to have a look. She had not experienced Asian food markets before and refused to eat in them, so, unfortunately, we missed the best part of Panang. they do look dirty but they taste so good! There really isn’t much else to say about Panang, we definitely should have stayed in Langkawi, the next island north.

Panang

After Panang it was time for the East, off to Tioman Island, what a difference. Tioman is absolutely beautiful, with monkeys playing, stunning water, tropical beaches, and the water full of creatures.

Gorgeous Tioman Island!

Surprisingly for a remote island, the beer and the food were delicious and really cheap. I can’t wait to go back!
