The last couple of weeks have been a combination of a couple of my favourite things; Japanese culture and a film festival. This time of year brings the Japanese Film Festival to Sydney. With Sydney having 40 degree days right now it is perfect.
Over the last few years I have been searching for a decent way of having my music delivered all around the house without having the hassles of CD players everywhere.
Multi-room amplifiers work well but are ridiculously expensive and can’t be installed when renting, iTunes can send music to multiple airport receivers, but only if you all want to listen to the same thing. The answer seemed to be pointing to, the still reasonably expensive, Squeezebox.
Then, out of the blue a good deal on Catch of the Day left me with a brand new Pinnacle SoundBridge HomeMusic.
I always try to go to things on around Sydney every month or so. Tonight I went along to the Opera House Studio to see some modern Japanese dance, not quite right, by the Strange Kinoko Dance Company.
Last week I went to see the Fabulous Mr Percival at the Vanguard in Newtown. This was a very different sort of vocal act and definitely something worth a look.
